About Gallery Lofoten
Gallery Lofoten houses the biggest collection of North Norwegian paintings from around the turn of the last century, a period by many referred to as the Golden Age of North Norwegian painting.
The gallery's premises were formally a fish landing station where only the year before conversion, hundreds of thousands of kilos of cod had been landed, and as late as the winter of 1989, large number of salted fish were still being stored on the premises. The former salted fish storeroom was converted into a cinema hall, the gutting shed was turned into today's Souvenir Shop while the oldest part of the factory was converted into what is today's main gallery.
Exhibitions
On the ground floor of the gallery there is an ample collection of paintings by widely recognized artists such as Otto Sinding, Gunnar Berg, Even Ulving, Adelsteen Normann, Einar Berger, Ole Juul, Thorolf Holmboe and several others.
The first floor of the gallery is divided into two sections: a collection of watercolors by Lars Lerin and a section featuring the current guest artist of the year.
On the second floor our historical exhibition can be seen next artworks from Frans Widerberg, Nico Widerberg and Ørnulf Opdahl.
Cinema Hall
Next to the ground floors' exhibition we have a cinema hall dedicated to Frank A. Jenssen.

Souvenir Shop
In the souvenir shop you will find an assortment of art books, postcards and posters featuring the artists whose works are on display in the gallery. Here you can pick from a big variety of organic, ethically traded Fjåk chocolates, local glass works and unmissable souvenirs.
Lofoten Vinstue
Nestled alongside Galleri Lofoten is Lofoten Vinstue, offering a varied selection of wines. Settle in and enjoy the breathtaking view of Henningsvær's harbor while you relax.
